Harold Wayne Parks, 90, of Lingleville went to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2019, in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 11th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Horton and Randy Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Lingleville East End Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Harold Wayne was born on January 23, 1929, in Mineral Wells to the late George Harold and Leah Damaris Leatherwood Parks. He attended school at Lingleville, and Tarleton State University, where he played Plowboy Basketball. Harold Wayne married Tabitha Vandiver in 1952, and to that union was brought the birth of his two children, Randy and Teresa. On April 21, 1979 in Stephenville, Harold Wayne married Lynette Tyler Johnson, and he gained another daughter and son, Janet (Howle) and Eddie Ray Johnson.

For over 70 years Harold Wayne was a dairyman, owning and operating Parks Hill Farms. He was a member of Erath County DHIA, co-founder of Cross Timbers Savings & Loan, one of the founders and board of directors of the First National Bank of Dublin. He was past president of the Texas Holstein Association, a cattle broker for Texas Dairies, and a board of director for Farmers Milling Feed Company. Harold Wayne spent several years as a Trustee for the Lingleville ISD. He was an avid sportsman. He played several years on the Senior Citizen Softball team, and he loved playing baseball and basketball. He sponsored sports teams, and coached little league baseball for many years. He was a member of the Dublin Assembly of God church, and a lifelong resident of Erath County.

Harold Wayne is survived by his wife, Lynette; children, Randy and wife Cherry Parks of Lingleville, Teresa and husband Gary Dempsey of Lingleville, Jan and husband Johnny Howle of Desdemona, and Eddie Ray Johnson of Lingleville; grandchildren, Katrina and husband Cody Brister of Lingleville, Sabrina and husband Anthony Vandenberg of Bunyan, Craig and wife Amber Parks of Lingleville, Michelle and husband Josh McArtor of Dallas, Dr. Kyle and wife Holli Dempsey of Aledo, Tyler and wife Emily Howle of Lingleville, and Justin Howle of Lingleville; eighteen great grandchildren; sister, Helen Hampton of Stephenville; brother, Jack Parks of Lingleville; sister, LaVerne and husband J. R. Cardwell of Tolar; and a sister-in-law, Merle Jo Parks of Stephenville.

Besides his parents, Harold Wayne was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Christine and her husband Billy Ferguson; brother, James Mac Parks, brother-in-law, Johnny Hampton; and a sister-in-law, Norma Parks.
