Mary Willadine Lee Lackey, born August 21, 1922 in Carlton, Texas to parents Riley and Eunice (Stuckey) Lee, passed away December 12, 2019 at age 97. Willadine was also known as the “Flag Lady”, she was instrumental in getting and displaying the flags on holidays in downtown Hico. She was an artist, talented seamstress, sports fanatic, and Ranger fan, was always involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities, a volunteer at school, delivered meals on wheels, loved playing “42” at the Senior Center, and working at Salmon-Ross Department Store. Willadine also served her community as an officer for the Civic Club, was twice parade marshal, a longtime active member of First United Methodist Church, Golden Heart Award, woman of the week.

Preceding Willadine in death are her parents, husband of 61 years, G.R. (Doc) Lackey, and daughter Nancy Lee Lackey.

Surviving Willadine are daughters, Dixie Ogle and husband Montye, Suzanne Bramlett and husband Danny; grandchildren, Victor Ogle and wife Marla, Rachel Jackson and husband James, Marcus Bramlett and wife Lindsey, Cameron Bramlett and wife Megan. Also surviving Willadine are great grandchildren: Kendall, Madison and Preston Ogle, Courtney, Mallory and Mariah Bramlett, Riley, Kelsey and Ethan Warren, and Nick and Grace Jackson.

The family is very grateful to the Hico Nursing and Rehab for Willadine’s excellent care, and to Solaris Hospice for their assistance. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in her memory be made to First United Methodist Church, Hico, Texas.

Visitation 9-11 am Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Harvest Hills Funeral Home. Graveside Service 12 o’clock noon at Carlton Cemetery, Carlton, Texas. Memorial Service 11 am December 21, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Hico, Texas.
