Charles O. ‘Pat’ Havens, 85, of Stephenville, died Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with David Bearden officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday (one hour prior to services), at the Stephenville Funeral Home.

Pat was born on March 22, 1934 in Palo Pinto County, Texas, one of nine boys, born to the late Arthur and Bertha McNorton Havens. He married Mary Edith Gilman on December 9, 1965 in Cisco, Texas. Pat grew up in Hale Center, Texas. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. In his younger days he loved to hunt, and enjoyed fishing well into his adult life. Pat was a member of the Church of Christ, and was very active in the congregations he attended by teaching bible classes, and preaching sermons. He spent 31 years of his life as a U. S. Postal Inspector. Pat lived several years in Irving before moving to Stephenville in 2014.

Pat is survived by his wife, Mary; two brothers, Jimmy and David Havens; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Marie Havens; and by six brothers, Bill, Dee, Fred, Alton, Dan, and Donald Havens.
