Texan Tennis falls to No. 2-ranked Tyler Junior College

STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton’s young tennis team faced a strong test in the second match of the season when they hosted the No. 2-ranked team in the country at the junior college level Saturday afternoon. The Texans suffered a 6-1 loss to TJC to fall to 1-1 on the season.

“Overall, I’m happy with the match,” said Elianne Douglas-Miron. “We played very consistent against a very well-coached Tyler Junior College team. We learned a lot about ourselves and know what we need to work on. It was a great weekend for Celia (Vaudiau), who showed us what she is capable of. We’re excited to get back to work and hit the road next week.”

After Tyler won all three doubles sets to take the first point of the afternoon, Vaudiau gave the Texans their only win of the afternoon by battling to a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 win in the No. 4 position of the lineup.
