Nina Clair Mulkey, age 94, passed away peacefully in her favorite room of the home that she shared with her daughter February 10, 2020. She was born August 4, 1925 in Dianna, West Virginia to Harry Oliver Fisher and Dortha Alice Ware. After marrying, having children and living many years in West Virginia and Texas, she moved to Hobbs, NM where she found the love of her life JD Mulkey. JD married his little desert flower on July 2, 1981. JD preceded her in death in 2004.

Nina graduated from New Mexico Junior College in 1988 with an Associate’s Degree in Social Work. She did not pursue a career as she had enough family to keep her busy for all her years to come.

Nina lived a full life and found the most joy in being with her family. She loved big gatherings full of food, fun and laughter. This was most apparent by her many birthday celebrations, family reunions and Christmases throughout the years.

Nina saw the good in all people and was loved by everyone that met her. She never let anyone go without a hug and shared her love of the Lord with anyone that would listen. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6 – “ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Nina added her own twist to the ending by saying forever and ever Amen and Amen.

Nina is survived by her sister, Rita Ann Tabish; her two daughters, Joan Ary and Pat Flynn; a son and his wife, Dan and Sue Wooldridge; daughter in law, Lynn Wooldridge; Stepson and his wife, Paul and Kathy Mulkey; 43 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; 27 great great grandchildren and a multitude of family. She loved each one for who they were and touched each one greatly.

Nina was preceded in death by a brother, Herb Fisher; three sons, Robert, Larry and Mike Wooldridge; a daughter, Linda Morando; son in law, Ron Ary; step daughter Jean Nichol and four grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to CCS Hospice for the gentle loving care they provided to Nina over the years. You became family and we are grateful you were in her life.

A celebration of Nina’s life will be held at Stephenville Funeral Home, 120 West South Loop, Stephenville, TX. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with funeral services Thursday, 1:00 pm.
