STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State University associate professor Jolena Waddell has been named faculty fellow for the 2020 Book Harmon Leadership Forum March 2 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

Associate dean in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Dr. Waddell has served as an associate professor in animal science and veterinary technology at Tarleton since 2014 and was previously an assistant professor in animal sciences at Purdue, where she earned a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in muscle stem cell biology.

The Book Harmon Leadership Program was founded in 2005 to promote leadership for Purdue students studying animal sciences.

The major focus of the program is on the leadership forum, where distinguished animal sciences professionals speak to students and present on their fields and specific leadership topics. The forum occurs once a semester and involves a presentation and several meet-and-greet opportunities.
