David Charles Hale was born on October 24, 1948 in Grayson County to the late Davie Crockett Hale, Jr. and Ruth Douglas Hale. He was a graduate of Stephenville High School class of 1967, and a graduate of Tarleton State University. David served in the U.S. Army for many years and worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 2014. He married Anita Rhoades on April 1, 1998 in Stephenville.

He was preceded in death by his father Davie Crockett Hale, Jr; his mother, Ruth Douglas Hale; his step-father, Audie M. Parks; his brother, Joe Parks; his sister, Susan Parks; and his daughter, Pam Hale

Survivors include his wife, Anita Hale of Bluff Dale; son, Michael Douglas Hale and wife Wendy of Austin; grandchildren, Avery and Piper Hale of Austin; cousins, Michael Douglas of Arkansas, and Colleen Douglas of Missouri; favorite nephews, Matthew and Andrew Kosler; nieces, Jennifer Haynes and Autumn Bryant; mother of Michael, Gail Campetti; and his baby, Shih tzu, Lexi.

Dave kept his sense of humor until the very end – if he would have had his way, this obituary would have read “David Hale – he died”

In lieu of flowers, Dave would have loved it if you could make a donation to the Foster Children’s Home in Stephenville or the Erath County Humane Society.
