Glenda Hitt McKinzie, age 93, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020, in Comanche, Texas.

Due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, the family will hold a private graveside service in the Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born on May 19, 1926, in Santa Anna, Texas, to Roy and Marie (Byrd) Mitchell. On June 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Loyd Hitt in Comanche. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1966. She married Theron McKinzie in Comanche on August 8, 1975. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1994. Glenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In her spare time she loved to knit and crochet, and also liked to fish and hunt. She liked people and was kind and helpful to everyone she met. In her younger years she worked at the Choice Cookie Factory, and later, for Comanche County Clerk, South Side Grocery and Red and White Grocery. Glenda was a member of First Baptist Church of Comanche.

She is survived by her daughter, Sara Hitt Williams of Comanche; sons: Roger Hitt and wife Lou of Decatur, Wayne Hitt and wife Leslie of Granbury, and Roy Hitt and wife Sandy of Arlington; eight grandchildren: Lewis Williams, Lesle Williams McGuffey, Nick Hitt, Michael Bradshaw, Shelly Hitt Laaser, Nathan Bradshaw, Jessi Hitt and Rachel Hitt; eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
