Jack Caves, beloved husband, father and grandfather went home to be with his Lord after over a four year battle with cancer on Saturday morning, April 18 at his home.  He was born in Austin, Texas on May 19, 1951 the son of Jack and Georgia Caves.   Jack was an Air Force veteran and graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy.  He was a faithful employee of H.E.B. in Stephenville for 25 years where he worked in the meat market.  He loved gardening and was an avid back-packer earning the nickname, Backpack Jack.  His greatest enjoyment was visiting his children and seeing his grandchildren.  He was a faithful member of Harvey Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher for the Rock House and helping in the Awana program for children.  He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Jack William Caves Sr. and Georgia Lee Gentry of Stephenville.  He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Mary Caves of Stephenville and two daughters who live in Fort Worth with their families:  Mara Lee Miller, husband Robert Miller and daughter Maris; Gina Anne Milligan, husband Brian and daughters Scout and Maple;  two sisters: Jana Williams, brother-in-law Doug, nephews Ned and Nick;  Eileen Caves, brother-in-law  Joe Greene, niece  Laura and nephew James.  He was buried in Lipan, Hightower Cemetery on Tuesday, April 21.  A memorial, to be announced at a later date, will be held in his honor at Harvey Baptist Church.
