Kylie Jo Everett peacefully joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 20, 2020. Kylie had the greatest imagination and whatever she pursued, she pursued with her whole heart. Kylie was known by many as a gifted composer, dancer, car karaoke singer, artist, model, entrepreneur, and fashion designer. Over her childhood, she served as a backyard school teacher, doctor, veterinarian, mud-pie chef, and even an elf. Her sister Kacie was her side-kick, shadow, and sometimes victim, in so many of those backyard adventures where they could be anything they could imagine. As they grew older, they shared a love for attending concerts and late night road trips with loud music singing at the top of their lungs. Though she sometimes seemed shy, once you knew her, you realized she was hilarious and loved to make people laugh with her dry wit, her bursting into song, and her silly spontaneous dance moves.
Kylie was born on April 10, 1999 in Stephenville, Texas and was a 2017 graduate of Stephenville High School. Kylie was finishing her junior year at Howard Payne University where she was pursuing a degree in Business Marketing and worked at the Admissions Office. During her time at HPU, she served with the BSM, Delta Chi Rho, and was an active member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
Kylie built her life on her relationship with Jesus Christ and the Lord shone brightly through her sweet spirit, contagious laugh, and huge smile. Kylie recently fulfilled a calling she felt as a four-year-old, by serving with her church, on a mission trip to Uganda. She returned full of love and compassion for the children and families in Africa. She also served as a Life Guard on Wednesday evenings with the Coggin Youth.
She is survived by parents Kyle and Kerri Everett of Stephenville; her sister Kacie; grandparents Billy Don and Nikki Glass of Stephenville; aunts and uncles Dusty and Misti Glass of Ft. Worth, Steve and Melissa Burger of Ft. Worth and Carol Pennington of Stephenville; cousins Blaine Glass of San Marcus and Brady Glass of Denton; the love of her life, Hunter Carrier of Brownwood, and a host of friends from across the world. Kylie is preceded in death by her grandparents Charlie and Waynell Everett.
On April 20 her work on this earth was done, and God called her home. She is now healthy and whole, and will never again be affected by epilepsy. She’s now gone ahead of us to turn on the lights and will be there to greet us someday. Our sadness of today is comforted by knowing we will see her again very soon. Jeremiah 29:11
Due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, the family will hold a private graveside service in the Stephenville East Memorial Cemetery.
