December 4, 1934 ~ May 6, 2020 (age 85)

After a life of service to God, family, friends, and country, Jerry Weatherby, of Stephenville, TX was called home May 6, 2020 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Due to current restrictions, the family will hold a memorial ceremony at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.

 Born December 4, 1934 in Bloomingrove, Texas. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Barbara E. Weatherby, his parents H. H. “Red” and Sue Nell Weatherby, his brothers James H. “Jim” and Charles M. Weatherby, and his sister Bettye Sue Pritchard.

 After graduating from Texas A&M in 1957 Jerry joined the Air Force, becoming a pilot, serving in Korea and Vietnam, and retiring as a Lt. Col. in 1979. Having already moved his family, he joined them in Stephenville, Texas, where he became an active church member and deacon at First Baptist Church, spent the next several years working for his brother Jim as General Manager of Comanche Meats, then finishing his working years with another full career as a teacher in the English Department at Tarleton State University retiring in 2007. His retirement was spent fishing, gardening, and traveling back and forth between grandchildren. He spent his final days in Murfreesboro Tennessee, at Creekside Assisted Living, where he was treated with dignity and respect, quite loved and dotted on, and always made to feel like the favorite.

 He is survived by his daughter Pamela Sue and son-in-law John Stallworth of Gallatin Tennessee, and daughter Jeni Lee and son-in-law Tommy McEwen of Montague Texas. Four grandchildren Shaun Stallworth, Lindsey LeMond, Courtney McEwen, and Nat McEwen, five great grandchildren, and brother Butch Weatherby of Arkansas.
