It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Domingo Garcia Aranda, Sr., announce his passing from this life on May 10, 2020.

Domingo was born on February 15, 1931, in Pearsall, Texas, the son of Egnacio and Maria (Garcia) Aranda. In 1964 he was united in marriage to Donna Westcott. She preceded him in death in January, 1986.

He was living life with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around him every day. He wouldn’t have had it any other way. He loved to be surrounded by people. We celebrated his 89th birthday in February, surrounded by family, full of food, laughter and cake. He loved birthday cake.

Domingo was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly. Nevertheless, we, his children, were able to say our goodbyes and watch him peacefully slip from this world.

He is survived by four sons, Rick Westcott of Comanche, Billy Aranda and wife Martha of Dublin, Sunday Aranda and wife Jodi of Gustine, and Scott Aranda and wife Beatriz of Gustine; two daughters, Tina Aranda and husband Baldo Olivares of Gustine and Hope Martinez and husband Johnny of Abilene; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Ruben Aranda of Dublin, Joe Aranda and wife Vera of Dublin, Mark Aranda and wife Linda of Arizona; sisters, Janie Walmack and husband Wally of Dublin and Vera Hernandez of Dublin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Egnacio and Maria Aranda; brothers, Manuel Aranda and Bennito Aranda; and sister, Maria Gutierrez.

Visitation will be at Comanche Funeral Home on Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00.
