Connie Banks (Sorrells)

(January 18, 1957 – May 21, 2020)

She was born in Fort Worth, TX, January 18, 1957, to Mack and Patsy Sorrells. Connie graduated from Stephenville High school in 1975. She attended Tarleton State University, where she was a member of DST social club. She married Monty Banks on July 6, 1985. Together they raised their 3 children, Sarah, Stephen, and Andrew in Stephenville. Connie owned Building Blocks Daycare for 20 years. She and Monty owned and operated Stephenville Texas State Optical since 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Stephenville. Connie was a passionate and dedicated community volunteer. She was active with the SISD Education Foundation board, Tarleton Alumni Association, PTA, Band Boosters, and many more organizations. She leaves a lasting legacy of philanthropy and kindness.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Monty Banks, and father Mack Sorrells. She is survived by her mother Patsy Sorrells. Her three children and their spouses; Sarah and Justin Clements, Stephen and Ashley Banks, Andrew and Courtney Banks. Her four grandchildren Elorah, Harper, Annabelle & Jude. Four siblings; Susie Sorrells-Jeffers, Malcom Sorrells, Wylie Sorrells, and. Mack Sorrells. 12 nieces and nephews. And many, many dear friends.

Services will be held at a later date. Flowers may be sent to local nursing homes to continue to spread joy as she did. Donations may be made to Stephenville Education Foundation, Tree House After-School program at First United Methodist Church and Back Pack Buddies of Erath County.
