VISITATION: No formal visitation is scheduled.

Jeffrey (Jeff) Thomas Cox, age 52, beloved son of Tom Cox, Jr. and Billie St. Clair Cox, passed away on May 28, 2020.

An “Angel Unaware”, Jeff was born on June 21, 1967 with Downs Syndrome. His condition never limited his ability to love fully, laugh hard, or enjoy life to its fullest. Jeff was an absolute blessing to our family and his many friends.

Jeff was baptized and raised in the Comanche United Methodist Church. Throughout his life, he demonstrated forgiveness, an abundance of love, and the faith of a child that his Savior, Jesus Christ, asked of him. Jeff possessed a warm and loving presence that was felt by everyone close to him.

Jeff was an avid sports fan, closely following his Texas Aggies, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He was the self-proclaimed “world’s greatest square dancer”, an achieved golfer and swimmer, and a Special Olympian. Jeff loved his country music. Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Porter Wagoner and Buck Owens were at the top of his list.

Jeff was the creator of unbridled entertainment for all of us, with an ever-present hint of mischievousness. On behalf of his sisters, Polly Cox Reed, Bette Cox Harris and Sue Cox Six, along with his nieces and nephews, Tom and Kelley, Roy and Ben, Lindsey and Lauren, we can all attest that Jeff would secretly whisper to us individually that “You are my favorite”. None of us ever pressed for a final decision because deep in our hearts, we all know that we were his favorites.

May you rest in peace, Jeff Cox. Without a doubt, you were our favorite!

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Cox, Jr. and Billie St. Clair Cox, and uncles Mack St. Clair, J.L. Cox and Bob Harris.
