STEPHENVILLE – Former Tarleton Volleyball All-American Adriana Darthuy has signed a professional contract in her home country of France to play for Paris St. Cloud in the Women’s French Division I league.
Darthuy becomes Tarleton’s second volleyball player to play professionally, joining Kenya Alexander, who played in the Bosnian Premier League.
“I’m excited to start my new journey back home,” said Darthuy. “It’s going to be a great experience and I’m ready to grow with my new teammates. I’ll forever be thankful for everything I’ve learned in my time wearing the purple and white. Now it’s time for me to wear new colors professionally. I have great memories at Tarleton and I’m ready to make new ones in Paris.”
Darthuy played for the Texans for three seasons from 2017-19 and was named an AVCA honorable mention All-American in 2018. In her career, Darthuy landed 883 kills in 378 sets and 106 matches. Darthuy also had 1,064 digs and 137 blocks. She also had 158 assists and 95 aces and totaled 1,053 points in three seasons. Her 1,064 digs rank 10th all-time in program history.
The Marseille, France native was a three-time All-Lone Star Conference selection, including two first-team honors. She also was an AVCA and D2CCA first team all-region winner. In 2018, Darthuy helped lead the Texans to a 32-5 record and won the program’s first NCAA South Central Regional championship to advance to the NCAA Championships in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Darthuy and the Texans also set school history the season before, becoming the first volleyball team to win the LSC regular season championship and tournament championship in the same season. The Texans made the NCAA Tournament in all three seasons of Darthuy’s career.
