Drug bust in the Wal-Mart parking lot

More than $120,000 worth of drugs were seized by local authorities

ERATH COUNTY — Overnight and into the morning on Wednesday, July 29, Erath County Sheriff’s Office investigators, deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Stephenville Police Department intercepted a large quantity of illegal narcotics in the Wal-Mart parking lot. 

Two men were arrested and Chief Deputy Jeremy Woodruff said more than $120,000 worth of narcotics were seized. In addition to the drugs, an amount of cash and other items were also seized during the incident.

Both Lionel Alexander Garcia, 21, and Durmarcus Antwain Austin, 24, were arrested for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, penalty group 1 – more than 400G and booked into the Erath County Jail. As of July 30, both were no longer listed as in custody.
