Bobbie Jean Kerley Jones, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, in Comanche, Texas.

She was born on January 2, 1927, in Comanche, Texas to George W. Kerley and Jewell M. Lane Kerley. She was an outstanding mother, grandmother, and great-grand-mother. Bobbie Jean worked as an inspector at Durham Pecan Company for 20 years, 8 years at Sidron Sewing Factory, and 3 years at Wright’s Leather Goods. She also worked 2 years at Kirkland Department Store and 2 years at Thrift Mart. She loved dancing, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. She thoroughly enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. Bobbie Jean was a member of the Gartman View Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Rickey Jones and wife Fredda of Comanche; five grandchildren, Carrie Lynn Frost, Mickell Powers, Jonathan Jones, Dusty Jones, and Julie Jones Young; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Chandler and husband Norman of Comanche.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Kerley and Jewell M. Lane Kerley; two sons, Eddie Jones and Lerron Jones; one granddaughter, Mandy Shea Jones; and one grandson, Kelly Wayne “Bubba” Jones.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Western Hills Health Care Center for the generous care that Jean received during her final years.

Service Details

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, in the Pendergrass Cemetery in Sidney.
