Cynthia Dianne Vaughan, born April 6, 1958 in Forth Worth, Texas to parents Edward and Rosemarie (Allen) Bates, passed away on October 12, 2020 at age 62 in Hico, Texas.

Cynthia was better known as Cindi, and by Nana, Troublemaker, and Mom to those who knew her best.

Cindi was an incredible person who loved life, people, and critters, and family was most important to her. Her special interests included Bible studies and going on adventures with her children and grandchildren. Cindi volunteered with all of the churches and with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed helping everyone in the community. Cindi loved her dogs, taking mission trips, and playing practical jokes on people as well as being on the receiving end of jokes. She was often found playing with her dogs or taking her grandkids to the park.

Cindi was exceptionally strong in many ways. In 2005, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which she lived with for 15 years with the help of chemotherapy and great medical care. She was strengthened by her faith and love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Inheriting a strong sense of humor and fun from her dad, Cindi was always wanting everyone to laugh. From her grandmother Kate, she inherited the enjoyment of dressing up in silly costumes and throwing fake bugs at people.

Cindi was an exceptional mother and encouraged her kids to participate in additional activities such as sports and band. She was always there to help with homework and additional assignments, such as the Science Fair. Education was important to Cindi, and she went back to school later in life after working in the sales industry for many years, graduating from West Texas A&M University with a degree in psychology. She also encouraged her kids to pursue their degree in higher education as well.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Tyler Vaughan.

She is survived by her daughter, Jordan Carver, and by her grandchildren, Claire and Hayden Vaughan. Cindi is also survived by her brother, Randy Bates, and niece, Holly Willenbrock.
