STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton Football has announced its revised schedule for the inaugural Division I spring 2021 season.

The Texans will make their FCS debut with eight games on the schedule. Of those eight games, five are at home and three on the road. The Texans will take on one FBS program and four FCS teams this season.

“We’re very excited about the new schedule we were able to put together over the last few months,” said head coach Todd Whitten. “After having to start over on the schedule, our administration worked very hard in putting together a quality schedule at the FCS level and we’re excited to get back to playing on Saturday nights.”

Tarleton will open the 2020 season at home against McNeese State on Feb. 13 at Memorial Stadium. The following week, the Texans will travel to Las Cruces, New Mexico to play New Mexico State on Feb. 20 at Aggie Memorial Stadium. It will be Tarleton’s first-ever game against an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent.

Four of the next five games will be at home for the Texans as they take on another WAC transitioning opponent in Dixie State (Feb. 27), Mississippi College (March 6), Midwestern State (March 20) and Northeastern Oklahoma (March 27). The March 20 game against Midwestern State will be Tarleton’s annual homecoming game.

The other two road games for Tarleton will be against Dixie State in St. George, Utah on March 13 and then the Texans close out the season on April 3 at Alabama State in Montgomery, Alabama (pending contract agreement).

Exact game times will be announced at a later date. Home games will be played at the Lonn Reisman Athletic Center at Memorial Stadium in Stephenville. All times are subject to change.
