Obituary

Ronald Edwin LaDuque, 77, passed away peacefully at the family ranch near Lingleville, TX on November 4, 2020. Ron was born November 6, 1942 to Carroll & Juanita LaDuque as the eldest of 3 children. He was married to Lynda Watson in Uvalde, TX 52 years ago.

Ronald is survived by Lynda and their children, Shelley LaDuque & her spouse Pam Sliva, Stephen LaDuque & his spouse Jill Wade, and Jason & his spouse Tafi LaDuque. As well, he is survived by his sister Patsy Walton and her husband Ronnie, and cousin, Peggy Crooks. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll & Juanita, sister, Sue Price & her husband Otis, & brother Danny LaDuque.

Ronald and Lynda are blessed with 11 grandchildren, Chase & Emily LaDuque, Colby & his wife Tabitha LaDuque, Riley LaDuque, Lauren LaDuque, Quin LaDuque, Victoria LaDuque, Presleigh LaDuque, Stevie-Kate LaDuque, and Rachel & Bella Wade.

Ronald attended Seminole High School and after a brief stint in the oilfield, he attended Texas A&M to attend college where he received his degree of Agricultural Science in 1965. After college, he taught Ag Science for several years before moving into a managerial position with Central Power & Light Company. He and Lynda moved from Uvalde to Mathis to Laredo where he served as District Sales Manager with CP&L. After a period of time, Lynda & Ron opened their business, Rapidprint where they served the community for 29 years. During this time, he served in many community positions of servitude including Del Mar Little League coach, President and Founding member of the Laredo Daybreak Rotary Club, and President of the Laredo Development Foundation. As his time with Rapidprint wound down, Ron went back to his first love of teaching students in South Laredo.

Upon retirement, Ron & Lynda moved to Liberty Hills to be close to their kids and Ron taught at Round Rock ISD. After a period of time, Ron & Lynda were called back to Stephenville/Lingleville area and the family ranch that had been in the family for 90+ years in some form. Here he once again helped as a teachers aide in Central Elementary where his grandkids attended school.

In celebration of Ronald’s life, there will be a living memorial service at the ranch for family and close friends on November 27th. (time will be announced soon). As well, there will be a Celebration of Life Party in Ron’s honor at Stephen’s house in December (date to be determined.)
