Stephenville’s “game-changer” Alee McClendon is the District 6-4A Offensive Player of the Year.

The selection as district MVP is the second straight for Withers, and senior Alee McClendon matched that with her second-straight selection as the District’s Offensive Player of the Year. McClendon was referred to by opposing coaches as the Honeybees’ “game-changer” every time she stepped on the court.

Cali Carter is the District 6-4A Defensive Player of the Year

Senior Cali Carter served as Stephenville libero this season, and her efforts and talent were not overlooked with her selection as the District’s Defensive Player of the Year
“Of course, I am so proud of these girls and what they have accomplished,” Douglas said. “From Covid to battling injuries, these girls have worked to overcome all the adversity thrown at them this season.”

The Honeybees’ high-powered offensive attack would not have been nearly effective without the athletic ability of the District’s Setter of the Year, Jaylee Matthews.
Senior middle blocker Jaydi Griffin headed up the first-team selection that also includes juniors Kennedy Coffee (setter) and Emma Giddings (outside hitter).
Senior setter Bailey Kammerer was Stephenville’s lone second-team all-district selection, while juniors Maci Sheets and Reese Weyers were named honorable mentions.”
“Our seniors have laid the groundwork for success,” Douglas said. “Our time is going to come. So now we have to get back to work and continue the process to make it happen.”
