(October 2, 1938 – December 11, 2020)
Henry D. Adcock, 82, passed from this life Friday December 11, 2020. He was born in Comanche on October 3, 1938 to Doyle O. Adcock and Delma Sue Bain. Henry never married, but his life was filled with lots of family that he loved and doted on, as well as them him. Henry graduated from Gustine High School and then graduated from Fort Worth Business School. After graduating he went to work for R H Fulton in Lubbock, after that he worked for Cross Plains Construction in OK. Henry was a Pipeline Spreadman Manager for both companies. He has been the glue the family homestead, since the death of “MA”, his mother. Always having family reunions, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any other event the family needed. He was really into feeding up the family, then took on the same role in the Gustine community for funerals, fundraisers, and anyone he knew might need it. He and his sister Dorothy made lots of different kinds of candy and cookies to fill large boxes at Christmas time for friends and family. Famous for his awarding winning pies and cakes. He was treasurer for Union Cemetery, Board Church Cemetery, and Gustine Homecoming. He was a member of the Comanche County Genealogy Club. He spent many years volunteering for the Gustine and Comanche Museums. He volunteered a lot of his time to event planning and geotagging headstones in Comanche County to set up cemeteries for website viewing.
As anyone who knew him knows, he had a lot of sheep and goats that were his “babies”, most of them have names, especially the orphans. His presence will be missed by many family members, friends, and his animals.

“It has broke my heart to loose my Uncle. Not only because I am family, but because he was one of the FUN Uncles every kid needs. He loved to buy the toys your parents didn’t want you to have. Like lots and lots of Noise makers and the NOISER THE BETTER!!! LOL! Also, when our Daddy was killed, he and my other Amazing Uncles and Aunts stepped up and took on the help of raising us kids. They have always been there no matter what. Anyway, I know I’ve almost written a book here… but I wanted y’all to know that we lost an amazing man that has done so much for not only my family, but for Gustine and Comanche also.”
Henry is survived by sister, Nelda Devon, sister, Dorothy & Steve Brodie, brother, Levi S. & Patricia Adcock, sister-in-law, La Nell Williams, nieces & nephews, Carma Adcock, Tina Ross, James Adcock, Mark Jordan, Lee Allen Jordan, Sarah Scott, Timothy Jordan, Lacey Sweetser, and Ashley Curtis. 23 great nieces & nephews, 13 great-great nieces & nephews
He was preceded in death by his father & mother, brothers, Glynn Dale & Roicie Lyn Adcock, nephew, Scotty Glenn Adcock, niece, Steva Spottswood, great nephew, Glynn Adcock, and great niece, Shaye Spottswood.
Sorry but due to COVID isolation of family members there will be not be a funeral service at this time, but we will schedule a memorial service at a later date.
