Norma Frances (Parker) Stephens, 84, of Stephenville, passed away on January 10, 2021 and was joined by her beloved husband Floyd A Stephens, age 93, on January 13, 2021.

Private family Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Jan 16th at 10:00 am.  With a love so strong they will be laid to rest together at West End Cemetery in Stephenville.  Public visitation is scheduled for Friday Jan 15th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Stephenville Funeral Home..

Norma was born Sep 17, 1936, in Boston, MA to Edwin and Edna (Butterworth) Parker.  While raising seven children, she lived in Massachusetts, Nebraska, Japan, and, California, before finally settling in Texas in 1979.   She attended public school in Boston, and retired in 2001 from Harris Methodist as an LVN and was a member of the Texas League of Vocational Nurses. 

Floyd was born on Aug 23, 1927, in Stephenville, TX to Walter Allen and Clara Mozelle (Bagwell) Stephens.  He graduated from Lingelville High School.  Floyd worked for the City of Stephenville water department and retired as an operating engineer for Harris Methodist Hospital, where he met Norma.

They were married on May 25, 1985.  Both were members of Cross Timbers Baptist Church, where she volunteered to care for the church and prepared meals for grieving family members of Cross Timbers where Floyd volunteered as grounds keeper.  Norma was also an active member of the Red Hat Society with many friends from the area.  Both enjoyed Western Films and movies together.

Norma’s Survivors include her daughters, Kelley (Hope) Mohon and her husband Richard of De Leon, Debbie (Hope) Ray and her partner Jon Herron of Stephenville, and Norma Jean (Hope) Field of Ft. Worth, and her son, Paul Steeves and his wife Casey of Austin.  Surviving grandchildren are Jon Hope, Daniel Gregory, Amie Ryone, Kimberly Bowens, Jason Mohon, Christal Bailey, David Bubel, Allison Bubel, Mattias Steeves, Lauran Spoon, and Shawnna Miller.  She is also survived by 14 great-children in addition to many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Arline (Parker) Moree, sons William A. Hope Jr., George E. Hope, and daughter Brenda L Hope and one late great grandchild. 

Floyd is survived by his son Charles Stephens and his wife Norma Jean of Stephenville.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Lana Talton, Chad Stephens, Cody Stephens, Kelly Magin, and, Joseph Stephens.  He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Roland Dale Stephens and his twin brother Lloyd J Stephens, and his sister Ernestine (Stephens) Pack.

  1. My parents were very good friends with Floyd and Norma. They played Canasta once a month for many, many years with a group from Dublin and Stephenville while the kids ran wild outside.
    I’m sorry to hear of their passing but after being married for so many years it is a blessing they passed together. Say Hello to my Mom and Dad and the rest of the Canasta bunch. Who knows… maybe y’all will be playing Canada in Heaven.
