While one suspect is still at large, two suspects have been detained – one was released, the other was arrested – after a chase through Stephenville overnight.

According to a release from the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, “In the evening hours of Tuesday the 12th day of January 2021, deputies with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office received a request for an agency assist from the Stephenville Police Department.  They received a notification from the Frisco Police Department of a vehicle taken at gunpoint in the city of Frisco and was believed to be in the area of Stephenville in Erath County Texas.  Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office along with officers from the Stephenville Police Department and troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety began looking for the vehicle.

Deputies and troopers located the stolen vehicle and a pursuit ensued.  The driver of the vehicle lost control causing the vehicle to wreck.  One occupant was detained at the scene and another captured a short time later.  After a diligent search by members of law enforcement from the Sheriff’s Office, Stephenville Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety and Tarleton State University Police the driver, identified as Brandon S Lilley, was not captured and is at large.  A warrant for his arrest has been issued by the Frisco Police Department.  The female occupant was detained and later released.  The other male occupant was arrested on an unrelated warrant.”

Rodrigo Lopez, Jr., 24, was booked into the Erath County Jail early this morning on a motion to revoke possession of a controlled substance warrant.
