Dan Rightmer passed away on Feb. 5th, in Abilene, at 69 years of age. He was born in Ft. Worth, and attended school in Crowley, Texas. Dan earned his teaching degree from TCU and taught High School for several years. He also worked in summer camps for special needs students in Kerville, Texas. Dan loved and shared stories of the past and the characters that lived them. He loved the Lord and also had a talent for singing and playing various instruments.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Wyvonne (Slaughter) Rightmer. He is survived by his sister Jan (Bruce) Boulineau, Nephews Jason and Jarod Holt, Uncle, Bruce Slaughter, several cousins and friends. Dan understood the importance of a story, well told and lived.
Service Information
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on February 9 in the Hico Cemetery.
