Patty was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 17, 1964, to Bobby Jean and Nina Sue (Frasier) Koonce. She married Richard Niblett on February 14, 2019, in Comanche, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in De Leon, Texas.

Patrica Koonce Niblett – AKA -Patty – AKA- Pattykake – AKA -Pat – AKA-Nonnie. Her birth name is Patricia  Kay Koonce. What she is best known for is “FRIEND.” A true friend because Patty was loyal and could keep a secret. What you see is what you get, it was black and white with Pat. Pattykake was born April 17th, 1964, to Bob and Nina Koonce. Now Bob was one of the most Godly men I have ever met. Bob was also a deacon in their church for many years, and I know you have always heard the stories about “the preachers’ kids,” and I am almost positive Patty rode the fence 99% of the time between good and bad decisions, but always believed and trusted in our Lord.

The short time I have known Patty I have witnessed her devoted love to her family. “Unconditional” comes to mind. Pats only sibling is an older sister by the name of Carla . Most of us know how siblings are and as a bystander, despite the “sister rivalry,” I know they loved one another and neither one can convince me differently.

CHILDREN – So if there ever was a poster child for “Unconditional love” it would be Clay Patty’s oldest son. I think I will leave that right here. Number 2 – Have you ever heard “JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE KIDS-YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR RAISING? I can’t help laughing at all the stories about Number 2 of the pack. But even though Leslie kicked up her heels and raised a little hell, she broke the cycle and gave Patty two of the best grandkids possible. Kylea, who has become an outstanding young lady, not to mention a 4.0 GPA in her first year of college, (we’re not bragging,) and Braydon – oh my if you split his head open sports would run out everywhere at age 11! By his own accord he participates in baseball, full pad football, and basketball. Now we come to Number 3 – Cass or “Princess” as he is known in the family. Patty didn’t even try to hide the fact he is the favorite. PRINCESS the baby and the obvious favorite turned out to be quite the man, although I do think he will tell you that even though he is the favorite he still has a dreadful fear of “the wooden spoon.” As a mom, you might be able to count on one hand how many school activities Patty missed. As a Nonnnie, I personally know she tried to make them all, but ya know, even Nonnies get tired. Nonnie had five Grandbabies, Kylea, Braydon, Kash, McKenzie, and Rylynn. She loved them all “Unconditionally.”

Patty and I actually talked about our obituaries and what the context should be. We both agreed it should be real. Patty was not perfect, she sacrificed and took care of her family. Her character was real and her work ethic told what kind of person she was. Patty worked at one job for 33 years and made sure her family was taken care of.

Patty is survived by her husband, Richard Niblett of Comanche, Texas; children, Clay Golden, Leslie Delatorre and husband, Johnny, and Cass Griffin and wife, Sabrina, all of De Leon, Texas; five grandchildren, Kylea Delatorre, Brayden Delatorre, McKenzie Golden, Rylynn Golden, and Kash Griffin; and her sister, Carla Koonce of Arlington, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob & Nina Koonce.

She will be missed by all that knew her.

The service will be live streamed at www.fbcdeleon.org/live-stream if you would like to watch from home.
