Robert Lee Dunbar, 62, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Stephenville Funeral Home with Phil Kimberling officiating. Interment will follow at the Upper Green’s Creek Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm unitl 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert was born on March 15, 1958 in Hobbs, NM to Jacob and Dorthy Riddle Dunbar. He married the love of his life, Louvinda Chapman on April 21, 1979 in Stephenville. Robert was a graduate of Stephenville High School and worked for many years at Tarleton State University. He was also a Stephenville volunteer Fire Fighter for 10 years. He has resided in Stephenville since 1974.
Survivors include his wife of almost 42 years, Louvinda Dunbar of Stephenville; son, James Dunbar and wife,Danielle; granddaughter, Jordan Dunbar of Stephenville; his parents, Jacob and Dorthy Dunbar; brothers, Randy Dunbar and wife Karen of Stephenville, and Bill Dunbar and wife Linda of Granbury; and nephew, Shawn Ross Black of Stephenville.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jaydyn Dunbar; and by his grandparents.
Service information
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, in the Stephenville Funeral Chapel.
