DBU evens the series as the Texans fall in game two

DALLAS – The Texans drop game two against the Patriots after they post a six-run 6th inning that Tarleton wasn’t able to battle back from.

Dallas Baptist scored in four of the first six innings jumping ahead early 10-0 to get things started. The Texans got one back in the 7th and two in the top of the 9th while holding the Patriots scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Three Texans, Tyler Fowler, Kemuel Thomas-Rivera, and Cameron Lang, all recorded two hits tonight while six of the 12 batters tonight recorded at least one hit.

Fowler recorded a team high two RBI tonight on a double in the 7th and a solo shot in the top of the 9th. Corey Young recorded the other RBI tonight with his solo home run in the top of the 9th as well.

Four Texans saw the mound tonight with Hunter Thomas getting the start and going 3.1 innings with four strikeouts only allowing three hits. Zach Gagnon and Joash Congress came in to relieve Thomas combining for 2.2 innings with Gagnon only allowing one hit and Congress striking out one Patriot. Sid Payan closed things out tonight with 2.0 innings pitched striking out four while only allowing two hits and no runs.

The Texans continue their battle with the Patriots tomorrow as they look to take the series back. First pitch for tomorrow’s matchup is slated for 2 p.m.
