Texans fall to Patriots in game three, series finale tomorrow

DALLAS – Texans battle late in the game but can’t overcome the Patriots in the end falling behind 8-5 for game three in Dallas.

DBU scored five in the first four innings before the Texans got back three in the 5th and 6th innings to get within two. It was the Patriots who came out victorious tonight after plating three more late while Texans only got two more runs across.

Tyler Fowler, Cody Vannoy and Cameron Lang each recorded two hits for the Texans tonight while three other Texans added one hit each. The Texans had two doubles tonight from London Green and Spencer Bloom.

The Texans got on the board first in the 5th when Corey Young came in from third on a stolen base attempt at second. They got two more across in the 6th when Vannoy singled to center field scoring Colby Feris and Green. The Last two runs from the Texans came from a sacrifice fly from Green in the 7th and an error from the Patriots in the 9th to score Reed Hamilton from third.

Vannoy had a team high two RBI tonight with Green recording the other on the Patriot error. Five Texans recorded runs tonight and Green had the only stolen base.

Five Texans saw the mound tonight with the starter Bryce Hackett recording the longest outing with 3.0 innings pitched and recording a team high six strikeouts. Ty Jones, Justin Waltmon and Luke Baley each came in to relieve combining for 4.0 innings with Jones and Waltmon each recording a strikeout. Garrett Leggitt closed out the game recording one strikeout while allowing no hits and no runs.

The Texans close out the series tomorrow for the fourth and final game against the Patriots. First pitch tomorrow is slated for 1 p.m.
