Senior Hunter Rudloff fired rounds of 72-75 to capture the District 6-4A championship and the Yellow Jacket golf team finished 2nd, 8 strokes behind Gatesville to punch their ticket to the Class 4A-Region I golf tournament next week in Lubbock.
The Yellow Jackets also placed two other seniors in the top 10 as senior Tyler Heller shot 74-79 and senior Grayson Traweek shot 80-75 to finish 4th and 6th respectively. Senior Brady Morton and sophomore Landen Toof also helped the Jackets fire rounds of 314 at Sqauw Valley G.C. in Glen Rose and 329 at Gatesville C.C. to secure the 2nd spot behind Gatesville and 14 shots clear of Brownwood.
The Class 4A-Region I Tournament will be held at Shadow Hills G.C. in Lubbock on April 21-22. The Yellow Jackets will tee off at 8 a.m. both days in their quest to secure a trip to the Class 4A state tournament to be held at Plum Creek G.C. May 17-18 in Kyle, Texas.
