“Jurnee is a phenomenal basketball player that is hungry to end her career on her terms,” Wilson said. “We are excited to get Jurnee back close to home so that she has the opportunity to showcase her talent in front of Texan Nation as well as her family. Jurnee is an outstanding defender first and foremost but has the skills and ability to really score the ball as well. I mention her defense first because she really affects defenders with her length and quickness. It’s fun to watch.

“Additionally, she brings size and experience to our perimeter,” Wilson continued. “She has played basketball at the highest level at the junior college level as well as competing in the A10 conference. We are confident that her experiences thus far will show when she takes the floor for the us in the fall.”

President appeared in all 21 games for St. Bonaventure in 2020-21, averaging 22 minutes, four points and two rebounds per game.

She shot above 40 percent from the field in 11 games during a junior year that featured a number of notable performances. She scored 12-or-more points on five other occasions and recorded career-highs of seven rebounds and seven assists in two separate games.

President was a focal point in one of the best two-year runs in program history for New Mexico JC. She helped the Thunderbirds to a 59-10 overall record while in Hobbs and was a member of a team that advanced to the 2019 NJCAA Division I National Championship. President started in 68 of a possible 69 games at New Mexico JC and averaged 9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game as a sophomore.

The Texan was a fixture on the offensive end during her prep days at North Crowly HS. She averaged 13.7 points per game over the course of her four-year career and was a McDonald’s All-American nominee in 2017.

She will work toward obtaining a master’s degree while at Tarleton.

President becomes the fourth announced addition to the Texans’ 2021 recruiting class. She joins fellow guards Mason Jones, Crystal Smith and Tyler Jackson. Tarleton is expected to announce other signees in the coming days.
