Mary Gayle (Baxter) Crouch, 79, passed away on April 23, 2021 in Dublin, Texas.

A private family service was held on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Mary Gayle (Baxter) Crouch was born January 29, 1942 in Stephenville, TX to Troy Vernon Baxter and Mary Benton Hornbuckle.   She married her high school sweetheart, William Leroy (Bill) Crouch on January 26, 1962.  Gayle received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and her master’s degree from Tarleton State University.   She was an educator at Dublin ISD and retired as Elementary School principal after 31 years of service.   She was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband on January 25, 1985 and by her parents.

Gayle loved being outside tending to her cattle, driving her tractor, working the land, camping in her pop-up, snow skiing and riding her bike.  She was frequently seen in her red truck and cattle trailer with her canine companion, Pursey.  Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved being ‘Granny’.  She rarely missed a school function or sporting event and enjoyed playing board games and cards on her living room floor with the grands and great-grands.  Many camping trips were taken to several states, in her legendary pop-up camper with all her family, and the legacy continues with the camper being restored by her granddaughter and family for future trips.  She loved DBW sodas and always had plenty to hand out on her many adventures.

She is survived by her children, Lynn (and Tim) Porter of Gorman, TX, Angie (and Chuck) Gilliland of Dublin, TX, Kent (and Felecia) Crouch of Dublin, TX, her grandchildren, Shari (and Dane) Henson, Kalyn (and Michael) Glasgow, Kate Gilliland, Kade Crouch and Cole Gilliland, her great-grandchildren, Kinsey Glasgow, Caleb Henson and Eli Henson, her sister Judy Beckham, of Dublin, TX and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity, Cottonwood Baptist Church or the Dublin Public Library.
