The weather caused the Memorial Day Service in Stephenville to be relocated, however, it didn’t stop the community from coming together for the wonderful service from the American Legion Turnbow-Higgs Post & Auxiliary Unit 240.  Due to the threat of rains, the event was moved from it’s regular location in the West End Cemetery to the large pavilion in the Stephenville City Park.  The attendance was down a little from years past but that was due to the weather.  Post 240 Commander, Greg Thompson, opened the ceremony.  Matt Hallgarth, Post 240 Chaplain, gave the invocation and later the benediction.  SHS High School student, Mila Saldivar, did a beautiful job of singing the National Anthem.  The guest speaker was Lt. Colonel Lee H. Evans.  Lt. Colonel Evans is a Mineral Wells native.  Martha Fredrickson, Auxiliary Unit 240 President, assisted the Lt. Colonel with the ceremonial placing of the wreath.  The Flash would like to thank all those that gave their lives in service to our wonderful U.S. of A.
