(February 29, 1952 – June 15, 2021)

Jerry “Big John” Pettijohn crossed over to the Lord on June 15, 2021 in his home at the age of 69 being born on February
29, 1952 in Gorman, Tx. to Sam and Janiece Pettijohn.
His battle with dementia showed his courage in facing life challenges with determination. Despite the pain and memory loss Jerry stayed strong until the very end.
Growing up in Comanche County Jerry was an avid cowboy in his youth and after graduating Dublin High School in 1970 he become a successful entrepreneur in the cattle industry, land redevelopment, and acquisitions. His greatest business success was in the timber industry selling firewood and grill wood in 5 states. Jerry knew, and was known by many, having never met a stranger he was always willing to help those in need and the less fortunate.
Jerry was a devoted Christian attending Edna Hill Baptist Church regularly as did generations before him.


He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his 2 children, Twyla and Mark Cox of Dublin, Tx. and Brandon and Colley Pettijohn of Fort Worth, Tx. 4 Grandchildren, Britan and Maddie Bradford of Granbury, Brody Bradford and Rae Parker of Granbury, Briley and Savannah Bradford of Granbury, Tx. And Charlee Ann Cox of Dublin, Tx.2 Great Grandchildren Billie Dianne Bradford and Waylon Grey Bradford of Granbury, Tx. Sister and brother-in-law Oma Lee and Ronnie Brawley, brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Shirley Pettijohn Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

SERVICE

Family lunch will be prior to the service at the church.
