Bobby Bruce Gober passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at a local nursing facility. He was born in Plainview, Hale County, Texas on October 31, 1928.
Bob spent most of his life working as a Driller. He was an excellent bowler and always loved to joke around. He loved old western movies, especially John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Loved to always sing around the house and he loved his dog, Bear. Throughout his life he sold drill bits and owned a wrecking yard later in life. He was a generous person, and we will all miss him very much.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Twila Juanita Gober. They were married February 23, 1970. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Burns Gober, and Essie Mae (DeArman) Gober, of Fort Worth, TX; 6 brothers, Francis Edward Gober, and wife Hilda, of Long Beach, CA, Otto Richard Gober, and wife Ermel, of Long Beach, CA, Arnold Burns Gober, of Reno, NV, Harrell Marvine Gober, and wife Mozell, of Hurst, TX, Maxine Jessie Gober, and wife Etta Mae, of Cleburne, TX, and Jack DeArman Gober, and wife Sue, of Weimer, TX; son, Eddie Jack Gober, of Elbert, TX; 2 step-sons, William Larry Ellis, and Donald Kent Ellis, of WY; 4 step-daughters, Karen Kay, Donna Mary, and Victoria Jean, all of Casper, WY, as well as Kathy Juanita, of Missoula, WY; 1 grandson, Trey, of Wichita Falls, TX; 1 granddaughter, Shelby, of Olney, TX; 1 great grandson, Donavan, of Olney, TX; 1 great granddaughter, Melody, of Stephenville, TX.
Bob is survived by 1 son, Larry Bruce Gober and wife Laura, of Stephenville, TX; 1 step-son, Michael Thomas Ellis, and wife Sondra, of Somerset, KY; 1 daughter, Brenda Jean Reeves, and husband Bobby, of Olney, TX; 7 granddaughters, Cindy Berry, and husband Joe, of Decatur, TX, Renae Prestridge, of Bridgeport, TX, Summer Gober, of Stephenville, TX, Heather Nance, and husband Daniel, of Stephenville, TX, Mandy Gober, of Olney, TX, Shanel Ott, and husband Griffin, of Throckmorton, TX, and Jacqueline Gober, of Elbert, TX; 11 great grandsons, Michael, Devon, Xander, Malachi, Gage, Colton, Marshal, Thomas, James, Ryan, and Tristan; 5 great granddaughters, Samantha, Bailey, Farrah, Danika, and Sophie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
