Dixie Fay Simpson, 92, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2021 at her home in Dublin, Texas. She was born on March 10, 1929 in Proctor, Texas to her parents Irene (Sims) and Coy Whitehead. Dixie married her husband Buel Gene Simpson and together they had three children Debra, Mike, and Larry. She earned her bachelors and began her career as an insurance agent in Dallas, Texas for 30 years when she then retired. Dixie was a member of the Greens Creek Baptist Church in Dublin, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband Buel Gene Simpson on March 12, 2005, her son Mike Simpson on March 25, 2007, her brothers James and Jerry Don, and her sister Rena Gray.
Dixie is survived by her daughter Debra Morton of Dublin, Texas, her son and daughter-in-law Larry Don and Deborah Simpson of Dublin, Texas, her grandchildren Sherrie Bunch, Nicholas Morton, Christopher Stark, Burt Humphries, Cathy Workman, Christy Alfaro, and Candace Simpson, 8 great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter due next week, her brother Bobby Whitehead of Kermit, Texas, her sisters Wanda Richmond of Dublin, Texas, Kay Arnald of Highland Village, Texas, and Rita Elliott of Clyde, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, at the Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, in the Harrell Memorial Chapel in Dublin with burial to follow in the Proctor Cemetery in Comanche County. Pallbearers will be Christopher Stark, Nicholas Morton, Trever Gunter, Burt Humphries and Cory Alfaro.
