FORT COLLINS, Colorado – Tarleton wrapped up its fall tournament slate of the 2021-22 season on Tuesday at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The Texans finished 13th on the team leaderboard, shooting 942, a +78 on the Par 72 course at Ptarmigan Country Club. Round 2 was the best round for the Texans, as all five players shot under 80 in the round, the first such occurrence of the year.

Sofia Rodriguez was the leader for Tarleton once again, posting a 54-hole score of +16, 232, carding 74-78-80. She finished tied for 45th in the 81-woman event. Mathilde Brogens tied for 56th at +20, carding 80-78-78 for a 236 total. Angela Inocian (T-64th) shot 77-79-83, +23 (239). Beatrice Grise was a stroke behind her at +24, carding 85-74-81 for 240, tied-67th. Bridgett Joeris completed the group with a +30 (246), scoring 80-79-87 (74th).

Rodriguez had an incredible start to the tournament hosted by Colorado State, tacking on four birdies in the front nine of her opening round, including three in four holes, to post a -3, 33 on the front side. Starting on hole 16, she was -2 on her round after 10 holes before finishing +2. Rodriguez’s third round score of 80 ended a five-round streak of scores in the 70s, but it didn’t hamper her overall score too much, where she leads the team on the year at an average round score of 75.9.

Brogens played her fourth tournament as a freshman, leading the purple and white in pars with 35 on the tournament, tied for 16th-most among the competition. Her average round score is now at 76.9.

Freshman Inocian played in her fourth tournament of the young season, posting her best opening round score of 77. She had a great start, heading into her 13th hole at +1. A quadruple bogey on her 14th hole, No. 12, was the only reason she didn’t score even better. She’s now averaging a round score of 79.8.

Sophomore Grise had her best round as a Texan in Round 2, shooting a +2, 74. She was -1 after seven and even after 15. On her 16th, No. 15, she recorded a triple-bogey, but responded nicely with birdie-par to put her +2 on the round. This was her second tournament of the season, averaging a score of 81.2 in her six rounds.

Joeris wrapped up her fourth tournament as a freshman, now averaging a score of 79.8 in her 12 rounds on the year.
The Texans have a break from tournament action until the spring portion of the 2021-22 season. The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
