Gary Wayne James

July 10, 1949 – October 25, 2021

Gary Wayne James, 72, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2021, at his home in Stephenville, Texas. He was born on July 10, 1949, in Vernon, Texas to Bessie Ruth (Downes) and Jack R.V. James. Gary graduated from Dublin High School in 1968 and joined the United States Navy, serving honorably for 6 years. After his military service, Gary pursued a career as a construction supervisor at Tarleton State University and retired in 2015 after 30 years. Gary married his wife, Jo Nell (Bradford) James on May 19, 2012.

He was preceeded in death by his father Jack R.V. James in 1999.

Gary is survived by his wife, Jo Nell James of Stephenville, Texas; the mother of his children, Beth James of Dublin; and his children Tracie James of Dublin, Texas; Jeremy and Robyn James of Springfield, Virginia; Melissa and Blake Bunton of Tooele, Utah; Sarah and Michael Shelly of Centerville, Ohio; Bethany and Peter Poulsen of Valdez, Alaska; Matt Bartoszek of Fort Worth, Texas; Ryan Bartoszek of Rockwall, Texas; 23 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Bessie James of Dublin, Texas; his brothers Jackie and Judy James of Dublin, Texas; Troy James of Dublin, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
