September 18, 1934 ~ November 5, 2021 (age 87)

Charlcy Williams Standifer, 87, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021.  Services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Necessity Cemetery, under the direction of Lacy Funeral Home, Stephenville.  Visitation and viewing will be at 1pm.  Pallbearers will be Jed Walden, Jeffrey Geist, Mike Pratt, Johnny Anderson, Reggie Gerstner and Mike Driscoll.  Honorary pallbearers will be Zach Sandefur, Justin Mettlen, Ryder Beadle and Jonathan Giffin.

Charlcy was born in Breckenridge, Texas on September 18, 1934 to George Rankin and Ethel Gertrude (Haskins) Williams.  She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1953.  While attending BHS she met the love of her life, Kenneth Standifer, and they married on May 28, 1955.  She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from North Texas State College in 1956, and a Master of Education from University of Texas Pan American in 1991.  She taught school in Ft Worth, Savannah, GA, Tucson, AZ, Georgetown, TX, Santa Rosa, TX and La Feria, TX.  She ended her career in education as a school counselor, retiring from La Feria ISD in 1996.  After retirement, she and Ken relocated to Stephenville, TX in 1999 and they enjoyed their sunset years at KC Farm surrounded by family, friends and a loving community.

Charlcy is preceded in death by her parents, sister Vaudine Jones, brother Carroll Williams, twin daughters, Carmen and Camille, and one great grandson, Jack Mettlen.

Charlcy is survived by sons Kevin of Stephenville and Charles (Janet) of Weatherford, and daughter Cynthia Pryor (Mike) of Austin.  He also leaves granddaughters Sara Mettlen (Justin), Katherine Krueger (Cameron), Kimberly Giffin (Jonathan), Lashell Beadle (Ryder), Lauren Standifer, and Brittany Greenwood, grandsons Matt Pryor and Zachary Sandefur, along with 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Kenneth and Charlcy were fortunate to find a wonderful community for their retirement.  The family wishes to thank the neighbors on CR 456 and in Sherwood Forest on PR 897 for their friendship and support over the years.
