Gail Prutow, age 50, of Stephenville, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2021, while visiting her parents in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a woman of incredible faith who was passionate in her love for God, her family and kids who were hurting.

Gail was born August 7th, 1971, in Dallas, Texas to her parents Dennis and Erma Prutow. She attended elementary school in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. After the family moved to Sterling, Kansas she was an active member in the Sterling Reformed Presbyterian Church where her father was the pastor. She attended junior high and high school at Central Christian School in Hutchinson, Kansas and then graduated from Cono High School in Walker, Iowa, fulfilling a dream of attending a boarding school. Gail graduated from Sterling College with a degree in math education. She also received a master’s degree in education from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Upon graduation from college Gail worked at Hutchinson High School as a math teacher and later as an assistant principal.

Early in her career as an educator, Gail developed a passion for kids who have experienced trauma and hard things and she became a recognized expert in attachment issues and early trauma, working with hundreds of kids and families over the years. Most recently, Gail served as the Director of Education and Trauma Care at Adora Community, a residential school for kids from hard places who struggled in their family system or in a traditional educational setting. In this role she wore many hats as a full-time administrator, developer of curriculum, teacher, dorm mom, mentor and spiritual advisor to her students and their families. She had also recently started an online coaching and consulting business to help parents of struggling kids create calm, loving homes with healthy connected relationships. Gail was beloved by the students and parents she served. During her career she impacted the lives of countless families with her faith, love, expertise, passion and commitment to serving.

Gail had three beautiful children, Nik, Isabel, and Zach whom she loved deeply. She loved her St. Bernard dogs and was a talented artist. She enjoyed drawing Zentangles with scripture verses. The most important things in her life were her faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and her children. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Stephenville, Texas and her pastor and dear friends in the church were considered family by Gail and her children.

Gail is survived by her three children, Nik, Isa and Zach, her loving parents Dennis and Erma Prutow, her sisters Kristi Cirignano and Denise Ryherd and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her terribly. But they “do not grieve as those who have no hope” (I Thess 4:13) and rejoice in the knowledge and faith that she has completed the work she was called to do and heard those precious words: “Well done, good and faithful servant” as she entered the Lord’s presence.

Graveside services for Gail will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2021 at West End Cemetery in Stephenville with Pastor Ed Auger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up to help defray funeral expenses and to provide for educational and other expenses for Nik, Isa and Zach. Donations can be made online at https://gail-prutow-memorial.square.site/
