Wanda J. Ward King, passed away peacefully at approximately 12 noon on November 9, 2021, in Focused Care, Hamilton, Texas at age 97. She was born April 23, 1924, in Marshall County, Oklahoma. She moved to Hico, Texas, three years ago to be near family.

Wanda was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was married to the Rev. Roy L. Ward, Sr., a United Methodist Minister. He passed away in September, 1971. She later married Lester King of Madill, Oklahoma, who also preceded her in death.

For many years, she taught in the Madill Oklahoma school district, teaching kindergarten and 3rd grade.

Wanda is survived by one son and wife, Roy and Mary Ann Ward, stepson Royce King of Madill, Oklahoma, 2 grandsons, Miles C. Ward and Theresa of Severn, Maryland, Grant and Kim Ward of Hamilton, Texas, a step granddaughter, Cherish Ralls and husband Matt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also surviving Wanda are four great granddaughters and three step grandchildren, several cousins, nephews and nieces.

A celebration of Life will be held in the near future in Madill, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Hamilton Hospital Foundation or the Memorial Fund of First United Methodist Church, Madill, Oklahoma.
