Ellie Castleman, 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Stephenville Funeral Home with Buddy Payne, officiating and with Kevin O’Banion and Josh Kirby assisting.  Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  Visitation with the Castleman family will begin at 9:30 AM, one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Ellie was born on March 4, 1934, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to the late Clyde W. and Zella Jane Holcomb Adams.  She graduated from Oklahoma University with an Education degree.  Ellie started her teaching career in Dumas, Texas, where she met the love of her life, William Morton Castleman, and married in Holdenville, Oklahoma, on June 17, 1957.

After teaching in Dumas for 2 years, their journey began with Bill’s career in the airlines.  Ellie was a supportive, loving wife, as they moved 7 times to different states, and continued raising their 3 daughters.  After retirement, they moved to Stephenville in 1997.  Ellie was a devoted Christian, who loved the Lord.  She taught many Bible classes through the years.

Bill preceded her in death on June 13, 2005.

Ellie is survived by her three daughters, Anita and husband Jim Kirby of Stephenville, Connie and husband David Brunner of Aurora, Colorado, and Beth Castleman of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Josh and wife Katie Kirby, Chad Kirby, Amanda and husband Justin Mock, and Rebecca and husband Matthew Clarke; great grandchildren, Adalynn Kirby and Abigail Beth Mock; brothers, Brent and wife Charlotte Adams of Amarillo, and Bill and wife Kathy Adams of Ada, Oklahoma; and sister, Judy and husband Don Spurgeon of Morris, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
