Asa “Mark” Algood of Hico, Texas passed on to his heavenly reward on January 8, 2022, no doubt receiving a “Well Done Thou Good & Faithful Servant” from his Lord & Savior. Mark was born in Telephone, TX, on December 19, 1956, to parents Delbert Algood and Charlene Rennels, who precedes him in death. Surviving Mark are his loving wife Lori, son Clint Algood and wife Jessica, son Brad Feldpausch and wife Amanda, daughter Kelly Sikes and husband Chris, and his beloved grandchildren Addison & Emma Feldpausch, and Brody Sikes.

Mark was known by many endearing nicknames amongst his family and friends, including Grandpa, Paw Paw, Daddy, Old Man, Dad, Old Timer, and Marky Mark. Mark dropped out of high school his sophomore year and went on to work hard and provide for his family as a carpenter, construction worker, and jack of all trades. He also devoted himself to being a lay pastor, church elder, and a disciple of Jesus Christ in spreading the Word of God. Mark took great joy in spending time with his family and in encouraging and supporting their interests and business. Another joy of Mark’s came from being involved in his Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin, where he was a NN Top Hand for the church rodeos. He also loved to tinker and fix stuff, draw up plans to build things, fish, hunt, and attend gun shows and tractor pulls. Along with wife Lori, he was a regular at Hico’s Koffee Kup Family Restaurant, where he was known to take leftovers out to his faithful dog Rosie, patiently awaiting her treat out on the bed of the truck.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, January 10, at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, at the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin with Pastor Jimmy Holleman officiating. Burial at Country Oaks Cemetery in Hico.
