Services for “Julie” Etta Mae Myers, 85, retired science teacher, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Greens Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Ben McCleery officiating. A private family burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Lacy Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M.– 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2022.

Julie was born in Marysville, Kansas on April 20, 1936, to John and Neva (Totten) Sanderson. She married James “Jim” A. Myers on December 22, 1957, in Winifred, Kansas.

Julie was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church. She was a proud Army wife for 22 years, and a science teacher for 20 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in 1958, and she also received a Master’s degree in counseling from Hardin-Simmons University. She was an avid cat lover and polled Hereford cattle raiser. Julie was very crafty and enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting.

Julie is survived by her husband of 64 years, James “Jim” A. Myers; her children, Margaret (Myers) Hoogstra and husband Bill, of Clyde, Texas, Dwayne Myers, of Stephenville, Texas, and James Myers and wife Linda, of Buffalo Gap, Texas; grandchildren, Janna (Hoogstra) Johnson and husband Nate, of North Carolina, Hal Hoogstra and wife Michelle, of Alabama, Holly (Hoogstra) Kozlowski and husband Joe, of Bryan, Texas, Rachel Myers, of Brownwood, Texas, and Bruce Myers, of Buffalo Gap, Texas; great grandchildren, Ada, Sadie, Emily and Coraline Johnson, James and Mason Hoogstra, Clara and Wyatt Kozlowski; and cousin Barbara Purnell.
