Billy Jack Tyus, 81, went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2022 in Fort Worth, TX. Billy was born on September 7, 1940 in Gorman, TX to his parents William Lyman Tyus and Billy Fae (Lundon) Tyus. He married Patsy (Fair) Tyus on September 3, 1962 in Dublin, TX and has been a dedicated and loving husband for 59 years and 4 months. After graduating from DeLeon High School, Billy worked at the Peanut Mill and on Wheat Harvests in Colorado. Billy joined the Army and was stationed in Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, Germany, Alaska, Korea, and Texas. His most enjoyable experiences were operating the firing ranges and on-site hunting programs. While in Alaska, he worked with the AK Fish and Game Department relocating grizzly bears from Alaska Pipeline Camps. His job also required allocating and dispatch of Firefighters and Smoke jumpers during summer fires entailing 24 hour and 7-day work weeks. During off times Billy and his sons experienced summer and ice fishing along with running a fur trapping route. He also enjoyed moose and bird hunting. He flew his own Cessna 182 throughout Alaska. Upon retiring from the army and returning to Texas, he became a professional fishing Guide. He held three Texas fresh water red fish records and recorded many hours on local lakes. Billy was a member of the Midland F&AM Lodge in Georgia for 52 years. He was a member of the U.S. Army for twenty years until he retired in March of 1981. Billy enjoys hunting and fishing in his free time. 

He is survived by his wife Pat Tyus of Dublin, TX,  his sons and daughters-in-law Billy Jack and Heidi Tyus of Plano, TX, Roy Lyman and Helen Tyus of Dublin, TX, Paul Calvin and Lindsay Tyus of Paluxy, TX, his grandchildren Drew Alexander Tyus of Possum Kingdom, TX, Jourdan “Drew” Daggan of Dallas, TX, Madi Tyus of Plano, TX, Emma Tyus of Granbury, TX, Cooper and Griffin Pickett of Paluxy, TX, his sisters and brother-in-law Haldayne and Jerry Aaron of Rising Star, TX, Kim Metsgar of San Angelo, Tx, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. 

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the New Dublin Liveoak Cemetery in Dublin, TX.
