Tarleton Hosts Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Day on Saturday

STEPHENVILLE — Nearly two dozen members of Tarleton State University’s faculty and guest clinicians will be on hand for Saturday’s Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.

Admission is free.

High school and college musicians will collaborate in a concentrated environment that allows for advanced study. Musicians at all levels are invited for master classes on each instrument and performances by guest artists, Tarleton faculty and Tarleton student ensembles.

Featured guest artists include Bethany Padget on flute; Elias Rodriguez on clarinet; Nathan Nash on saxophone; Mark Schumpert on trumpet; Katy Ambrose on horn; Matthew Kundler on euphonium; Chris Sharpe on trombone; Vuri Bland on tuba; Todd Meehan on percussion; and collaborative pianist Syuzanna Kaszo.

Nine Tarleton instructors will participate — Brian Walker on trumpet; Kim Hagelstein on horn; Zach Marley on trombone and euphonium; Paul Birk on trombone; Floyd Richmond on tuba; Carolyn Keyes on flute; Dmitry Perevertailenko on clarinet; Andrew Stonerock on saxophone; and Ben Charles on percussion.
