Dwayne Battenfield, 72, of Dublin, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

Memorial services for Dwayne will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 5th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Craig Rhoton officiating.  Visitation with the Battenfield family will be prior to services on Saturday morning.

Dwayne was born on April 5, 1949, in Gorman, Texas to the late Gerald Gaylord and Virginia Elaine Lewis Battenfield.  He married Sharon Malbrough on March 15, 1975, in Houma, Louisiana.  Dwayne served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharge after six years of service as a Staff Sergeant.  He served several years as a Seminary Pastor with the Southern Baptist Churches while living in Louisiana and Missoula, Montana.  He and Sharon moved to Texas in 1997 residing in Eastland and Erath Counties.  Dwayne was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church in Stephenville, and he operated Battenfield Broken Arrow Breeding, raising Appaloosa horses.

Dwayne is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; daughter, Christie Battenfield of Dublin, and her children, Amberly Hopper and Darrell Perez; daughter, Silena and her husband Scott Whaley of Stephenville, and their children, Hunter and Lexi Whaley; and son, Troy and his wife Sara Battenfield of Stephenville, and their children, Katelyn Battenfield, Triston Battenfield, Jayden Tummillo, Jace Tummillo, Victoria Battenfield, Troy Battenfield, II, and Emilia Battenfield; and eleven great grandchildren.  Also surviving brother, Dennis Lynn and his wife Susie Battenfield; sister, Sheila Wilkins; sister Trina and her husband Jay Moss; sister, Jannette and her husband David Miller; sister, Annette Hyde; and brother, Kent and his wife Julie Battenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
