Billy Jack Slawson, 91, of Stephenville, formerly of Killeen, died Friday, February 4, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 9th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 (one hour prior to services)

Billy Jack was born on September 15, 1930, in Belton, Texas, to the late J D and Lopha May Ratliff Slawson.  He attended public school in Killeen, graduating from Killeen High School, class of 1948.  He served in the U. S. Army in the Korean War.  Billy Jack married Martha Jane Wood, August 24, 1956 in Lake City, Arkansas.  He was a member of the Church of Christ, loved the outdoors, fishing, and loved to play dominos.  Billy Jack was a barber, and spent most of his life in Killeen.

Billy Jack is survived by his wife, Martha Jane; son, Hank and his wife Brenda Slawson of Allen, TX, and their children Kelly and Cody Slawson; daughter, Harriet and her husband Ken Frazier of Stephenville, and their children, Margarite Marshall, Becky Frazier, Hannah Frazier, and Tom Frazier; and son, Harvey and wife Linda Slawson of Hallsville, and their children, Brianna DeLay and Ashley Kelley; also 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Billy Jack was also preceded in death by three great grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters.

The Slawson family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the charity of the donor’s choice.
