A graveside service for Jim Evans, 93, retired teacher, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 8, 2022, at Morgan Mill Cemetery with Dr. Ken May officiating.

Jim was born on a farm near Morgan Mill, Texas on June 19, 1928, to W.H. and Belva Evans. He married Dorothy Jean Earp on August 12, 1949, in Morgan Mill, Texas.

Jim attended rural schools at North Paluxy, Evergreen, Smith Springs and Morgan Mill. He attended college at Tarleton, North Texas, and the University of California-Berkley. Jim was a teacher, coach, and administrator for 42 years in Seminole, Texas, Maypearl, Texas, San Leandro, California, and Livermore, California.

Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stephenville, Texas. He has been a Christian since 1939. He had a great love for Jesus and his family and was a bible teacher.

Jim was a U.S. Navy veteran where he served with the Seabees where he was stationed on the Kwajalein Island.

Jim is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Evans; a son, Don Evans of Stephenville; a daughter, Cathy Perrin of Stephenville; 4 grandchildren, Courtney Perrin, Melanie Salge, Desiree McCalpin, and Tiffany Meheres; 8 great grandchildren, Evan, Adie, Tristan, and Wyatt Meheres, Wyatt, Raeleigh, and Lily McCalpin, Alexa, and Makala Salge; nephews, Bill Stallings, and John Reilly; and a niece, Peggy Reilly.
