On Tuesday, May 3, the community gathered in honor of former Stephenville Fire Chief Jimmy D. Chew (retired) at the dedication of Stephenville Fire Station No. 2.
Chief Robert Isbell welcomed the attendees and introduced special guests. Mayor Doug Svien spoke on behalf of the city council and the proclamation they adopted last summer, making Stephenville Fire Station No. 2 the official Jimmy D Chew Fire Station.
US Congressman Roger Williams spoke recognizing Chief Chew for his years of service to the Stephenville Fire Dept. as well as firefighting in the area. Chief Isbell and Chief Chew unveiled a plaque on the fire station honoring the chief.
